The Bixlers California Transparency in Supply Chains Act Statement
INTRODUCTION
Sustainable and ethical business practices, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principals, and total alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals lay the foundation of our business model. We hereby publish this statement in accordance with the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 (SB 657) to detail what measures The Sporn Company dba Bixlers has taken to end modern slavery, forced labor, and human trafficking in both its business operations and in its supply chain.
VERIFICATION
To abolish forced labor, slavery, and human trafficking in all its forms, The Sporn Company dba Bixlers curates an exclusive supplier list that is regularly evaluated to ensure that no part of our supplier's business practices violates any and all applicable laws and code(s) of conduct. The overwhelming majority of our suppliers are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). In the rare event that we obtain goods from a supplier that is not RJC-certified, said supplier is subject to the standards, due diligence verifications, and vetting processes outlined in our Supply Chain Due Diligence Annual Report.
AUDITS
We firmly believe in absolute business transparency and so we have submitted to a full audit to be conducted by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) to evaluate our business operations and practices to ensure total adherence to all applicable laws and code(s) of conduct prohibiting forced, labor, slavery, and human trafficking in both our business and our supply chain.
CERTIFICATION
Suppliers may be required to submit due diligence reports and written guarantees of compliance with applicable laws and The Sporn Company's Code of Conduct. To this end, The Sporn Company dba Bixlers is nearing RJC certification of its business and its supply chain.
INTERNAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Employees are provided with our Code of Conduct which outlines our human rights policies. Any employee found in violation of our Code will receive disciplinary action. Any supplier found in violation of our Code will be met with corrective actions and if warranted, all business dealings with said supplier will be terminated.
TRAINING
As we seek further education and deepen our commitment to a more sustainable supply chain, all employees of The Sporn Company dba Bixlers may be subject to further training as new and better business practices come to light.
